Newfoundland

District Overview

The Newfoundland Gold Rush is still in the early stages of what’s emerging as a multi-year run in the midst of an intensifying gold bull market. This exciting Gold Rush on “The Rock” was triggered in early 2021 by spectacular results from New Found Gold’s (TSXV: NFG) Queensway Project and a general reinterpretation of the island’s potential to host multiple high-grade deposits in a geological setting that shares many similarities with the Goldfields region of Victoria, Australia.

Despite its rich mining history, Newfoundland has been astonishingly under-explored for gold. This is rapidly changing, however, with more than three dozen companies now chasing the next big discovery in what’s developing as a potential major Canadian “area play”. Attention is focused on a large southwest to northeast-trending region, featuring numerous parallel structures extending across much of the island.

Few resource companies are better positioned for discovery success in Newfoundland than Gander Gold which currently controls 2,263 sq. km of highly prospective terrain, with impressive early prospecting success at Gander North and other claim blocks. Gander Gold has “first mover” advantage in Newfoundland as all of its ground was acquired prior to the intense staking rush that erupted during the spring of 2021. Nearly 90% of the Company’s total land package comes from its strategic partnership with famous Canadian prospector Shawn Ryan who’s a technical advisor for Gander Gold. Ryan turned his attention to this region in 2015 and secured the most prospective grassroots properties based on models that led him to great success in the Yukon more than a decade ago.

As Gander Gold brings its “Golden” approach to Newfoundland, get ready for plenty of exploration excitement in the months ahead!

Gander Gold Belt

Gander Gold Corp. controls 1,850 sq. km across five major project areas in the heart of the Gander Gold Belt, including Gander North starting 15 km east of New Found Gold’s Keats Zone discovery, and Mt. Peyton in between the Keats Zone and Sokoman Minerals’ Moosehead discovery.

Central Newfoundland

Gander Gold has all the bases covered in the broader Central Newfoundland Gold Belt, including Cape Ray II (323 sq. km) contiguous to Matador Mining’s growing resource advancing to production, and the Little River and Hermitage Projects (90 sq. km combined) in the far south.
